I'm sure there's a lot of info in this book that still holds true, but even with a bio degree it seems more technical than it needs to be. The illustrations are very basic and in black and white. I was looking for something more "nuts and bolts" and to the point. This is far from it. A majority of the book is spent talking about materials, insects, history, biological processes, etc. before it gets to setting up a composting system. If you prefer and updated book using layman's terms, straight forward info with well done illustrations, look elsewhere. This book here is a long, well thought out argument about why to use compost but it made me feel like "o.k., I get it, get to the point please I just want to set up a simple compost pile thannnnnnnnnks." It's 25 years old at least according to the copyright date. I'm happy with price and service, but not 100% what I was looking for. Hey, it convinced me to use compost. The author made their point--big time! Be prepared to deal with technical terms and processes though :)
